Inozu Valley
Description
Inozu Valley is one of the most popular
places with its cultural ruins and scenic beauties. This narrow valley
surrounded by escarpments on two sides has been formed by Inozu Stream. These
escarpments hide many caves. It is known that these caves have been used as
living areas, harbours and tombs in prehistoric times.
During the dissemination years of christianity these caves have also been used as churches. The caves are separated with rock walls between them and are opening out by wide windows. There are ruins of barriers in front of caves at lower level. Pieces of coatings have been found on walls of these caves.
